Letter from Heather

The big news? NO SURGERY TOMORROW!
We did go through all of the pre-op assessments today - ALL day - however, by the end of the day we heard from the surgeon's office that the surgery can't happen tomorrow because there have been 6 babies born recently that need urgent surgery. Sad for their families as well as ourselves. There's also a horrible lack of ICU nurses which need to be 1 to 1 with patients. We just trust fully in God's timing, although it does add however many more days of anxiety over Yana getting sick!!Please pray for peace and patience and health! Oh and that our next baby doesn't decide to come sooner than it's due date (Feb 11)!!

Surgery Update

Thanks for checking out the blog. We are hoping that this is a great way to update everyone on the upcoming surgery of Yana.
Mike, Heather, Yana, Dan, Ida and Dan are in Edmonton.
Surgery was planned for tomorrow (Tuesday), but for reasons unrelated to Yana the surgery has been postponed until Friday or Monday. Understandably, everyone is disappointed as they were all emotionally geared up for it.

In the words of Heather and Mike:

We are so relieved that this will be over and done with soon, but very
anxious about "walking through the flames." What we trust is that our little
girl is in the hands of a loving, all-powerful God who will work through the
hands and minds of the medical staff at Stollery Children's Hospital. Thanks
to all for your love, support and prayers...
